Our Story
Hello, welcome to our world of fine chocolate Chococo-style. Established here in Dorset back in 2002 by Claire & Andy Burnet, we are approaching our 20th birthday and what a rollercoaster of a journey it has been so far.
We are a proudly independent artisan chocolate brand single-minded in our mission to tantalise your taste buds with the most deliciously uplifting fine fresh chocolate experience in the UK. We are inspired by chocolate every day and hope to inspire you too!
We are also a principled bunch who care about doing the right thing in our sourcing of ingredients, both global & local, our refusal to compromise the quality of our creations, how we look after our team & customers and our efforts to do the best we can for the environment.
Apart from our passion for using fresh, local, seasonal ingredients and sustainable fine single origin chocolate to create delightfully surprising tastes (which has resulted in us winning over 110 national & international fine food awards to date), what is especially unique about us is that we celebrate fine chocolate in all its forms - we also make our own gelato, hot chocolate & brownies, as we want you to discover the joy of tasting truly fine chocolate, whichever form you choose.
Whilst we may be a small indie brand based in Dorset, which has grown from a tiny upstairs shop above our first chocolate kitchen in a back street in Swanage, a small seaside town in Purbeck Dorset, to four Chocolate Houses across the South and our HQ in Holton Heath near Wareham in Dorset, we still make all our creations by hand and we care more than ever about our impact. For example, we were ahead of the curve back in 2002 when we launched our selection boxes without any plastic inserts to hold the chocolates in place. Today, 100% of our packaging is plastic-free.
On a more global scale, given our seaside heritage and love of the sea, we are supporting marine conservation projects in the UK and around the world plus reforestation projects in Sumatra and so far have funded the planting of over 10,000 cocoa trees.
