On Monday 6 February a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck southern Türkiye (Turkey) and Syria. Later that day, two further large earthquakes (6.5 and 7.5) and a series of aftershocks hit the region.
Then two weeks later, a 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck near Antakya in Türkiye – an area already severely affected by the first earthquakes.
Then two weeks later, a 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck near Antakya in Türkiye – an area already severely affected by the first earthquakes.
These natural disasters have killed over 50,000 people, injured many more, and left millions without homes, safe water, heating, or food.
We wanted to do what we could to raise funds to help those involved, so to raise money for humanitarian aid, we are created a giant milk chocolate raffle egg, hand-piped with chocolate decorations and weighing 2.5kg.
Tickets were sold on our website and in our Chocolate Houses for £5 each, and 100% of the proceeds were donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee who provide urgent aid including healthcare, shelter, heating, food, and water in emergency situations.
Thanks to you, we raised an incredible £2,945. A raffle winner was announced at the end of March, and was able to enjoy their giant raffle Egg over Easter.
We cannot thank you enough for your kindness, support, and generosity. Your raffle ticket purchase has made a huge difference.
