We raised £8,630 for Ukraine thanks to your support buying raffle tickets for a giant egg

If you missed our social posts and email update about our Ukraine fundraising appeal a few weeks ago, this is just to let you all know that we raised a total of £8,630 for the Ukraine DEC appeal via the British Red Cross through the sale of raffle tickets to win a giant 2.4kg hand-decorated milk chocolate Easter egg.

The winner was drawn on April 11th and it was an online customer who lives in the Lake District. As she wasn't planning to visit Swanage, or any of the towns where our Chocolate Houses are, over Easter, she asked us to donate it to a local charity or blue light service.

We donated it to our local community hospital in Swanage and they were delighted to receive in just before Easter to break it up to share amongst the hospital staff, local ambulance crew based next door and patients.

Thanks again to all our online & chocolate house customers who supported this raffle.

As a postscript, we recently gave a Ukrainian mum & her young son a free cafe experience in our Swanage chocolate house when we were told they had been brought to Swanage by the couple they are now living with in Sussex. They needed a few days of respite by the seaside having escaped Kharkiv and adapting to life in the UK. Mum Viktoria was blown away to see the poster in the shop about how much we had raised and also to see so many Ukrainian flags around Swanage & Purbeck.
