Our Honeycombe Bar is a 'rip roaring success' according to the Observer!
We were chuffed to bits to read in today's Observer magazine that Annalisa Barberi rates our Heavenly Honeycombe bar so highly - in fact, she describes it as a 'rip roaring success' and says that if you love honeycomb and good milk chocolate, 'you'll love it' and that it is 'at last, a Crunchie for grownups' Praise indeed!
We launched our honeycombe studded milk chocolate bar quite recently as part of our expanding and new look 75g bar range and it has already proved to be a big hit with our customers online in and our Chocolate Houses. We make the honeycombe ourselves in our chocolate kitchen here at Chococo HQ in Dorset and then break it into different sized pieces to fill our honeycombe domed chocolates (which you can find in our chocolate houses display cabinets or in boxes of nine Heavenly Honeycombe chocolates, our honeyombe clusters and now our new honeycombe bars!
We mix the peices of crunchy honeycombe (which we make with local Dorset honey from Field Honey Farms based here in Swanage by the way) by hand into our award-winning signature 47% milk chocolate made exclusively for us in Colombia - as it contains more cocoa and much less sugar (just 30% added sugar compared to 45-55% for most other milk chocolates), its more intense cocoa taste contrasts beautifully with the pieces of sweet crunchy honeycombe that is studded throughout the bar.
As Annalisa puts it, 'It's not honeycomb covered in chocolate but rather a pleasingly chunky bar of 47% Colombian milk chocolate with bits of excellent honeycomb. Not all honeycomb is excellent. If you like honeycomb and a good milk chocolate, I can almost guarantee you'll love this'
