We are celebrating our 22nd birthday!
Chococo is 22! 2 little (chocolate) ducks and all that! What a year it has been but here we are in December with another two Great Taste awards under our belt (taking our total to 130 fine food awards won since 2003) and our fabulous team all working their socks off to deliver Christmas for you all.
We are busy making and packing Christmas chocolates at the moment, whilst at the same time, also making hearts and Easter eggs for our export customers wanting their first 2025 deliveries before Christmas! So it's all hands to the pumps to get through everything.
Our Chocolate Houses are all open and if you are out and about in storm Darragh, they will give you a warm Chococo welcome this weekend.
What a rollercoaster of a journey we have been on from launch back in December 2002 when it was just Andy & Claire with a toddler in tow making our chocolates by hand in a tiny 200 sqft chocolate kitchen in a converted hairdressers in a back street in the seaside town of Swanage.
That toddler, Lily is now 24 years old and currently travelling in Indonesia & her younger brother Max is at university! Our team is now 80-strong across our 4 Chocolate Houses (in Swanage, Winchester, Exeter & Horsham) & Dorset HQ where we make (& pack) all our chocolates, gelato, hot chocolate & bakery in Holton Heath near Poole.
Our original chocolate kitchen & shop is now our Swanage Chocolate House, so you can still visit the Mother Ship where it all began. Dawn our Swanage manager has been with us nearly as long as the business has been running - she celebrated her 19th anniversary with us in October.
We are looking forward to 2025 with, amongst other projects, some new pieces of kit coming to our Dorset HQ to help us make our chocolates more quickly and our Chocolate Houses will be getting a refresh...exciting times ahead!
