Why Saturday delivery costs as much as it does

Why Saturday delivery costs as much as it does

Hello, co-founder Claire here again. We just wanted to be open & upfront about Saturday delivery costs. It appears that there is some lack of appreciation that Good Friday, being a bank holiday, has NO postal delivery on that day and are ordering for pre-Easter delivery well after our deadline for delivery on Thursday has passed.

So the only remaining delivery option is Saturday Guaranteed Delivery. We are fully aware that it is expensive but want to inform you that we are just covering our costs on this! We are a small business and cannot secure the cheaper postage rates that large businesses no doubt can, as we don't do the sort of volumes that they do. We cannot afford to subsidise this cost, and this is what it costs us we are sorry to say.

There isn't a normal postage option for us to give for a Saturday & especially for Easter, offering anything that wasn't guaranteed would come with too high a risk that it wouldn't be delivered & so miss Easter altogether & not be delivered until afterwards.

If you do not want to pay this postage rate, then we will be able to send out items for delivery next week after the Easter bank holiday weekend is over.

We hope that this helps clarify the cost if you have any queries on the Saturday rate. We can only advise ordering earlier in future if you are unhappy with this cost!
Our Easter range has been available to order from our website since late February & we always have the Easter range live well in advance of it, whenever it may be each year.

Alternatively, if you are able to visit any of our Chocolate Houses in Swanage, Winchester, Exeter or Horsham, they are open as normal every day over the Easter weekend, including Good Friday and Easter Monday. They all currently have a good stock of all our Easter range including larger eggs that we do not offer online.
