NEW for June, our Salcombe Sundowner chocolate made with Salcombe Gin

We are delighted to announce the launch of Salcombe Sundowner, our chocolate of the month for June & our latest fresh chocolate made in collaboration with a local food & drink producer...this time with Salcombe Gin of Salcombe in Devon.

This bright, zesty chocolate is perfect for the summer (& also for celebrating World Gin Day on June 10th & Father's Day on June 18th), as we have blended both Salcombe gin & pink grapefruit oil in a fresh cream & Venezuelan origin milk chocolate ganache (for a touch of sweetness) in a Madagascan dark chocolate shell, to help bring out the depth of the gin notes. The chocolate is decorated with a naturally coloured white chocolate cross which we think is a nod to the points of the compass!

Why pink grapefruit? This is to bring out the flavours of the ruby grapefruit, lemon & lime botanicals used by Angus & his team to create their unique gin. They have incorporated both citrus & spice botanicals to celebrate the "Salcombe Fruiters", fast sailing schooners that were based in Salcombe in the days when it was an important west country trading port & they had to be fast as they were carrying perishable fruits!
