Maddie Moate makes Easter Eggs
Have you ever wondered how we make our Easter Eggs?
The brilliant Maddie Moate came to visit us to find out how we we make our Giant Ocean Egg!
First, we start with the chocolate. At Chococo we use Raise trade chocolate couveture from ethical, sustainable sources. Whether it is our 45% Venezuela milk, or 72% Ecuador dark, we have a transparent supply chain.
Next, we mould the chocolate. Maddie teamed up with our head chocolatier Kev to make the giant egg shells, learning all about the tempering wheels we use and how to build up layers of chocolate.
After moulding and studding the chocolate egg with chocolate turtles and starfish, Maddie moved onto decorating with Jacqui. Each Easter egg is handpainted with natural colours, and our Ocean Egg is inspired by the waves.
Then it's onto packaging. All of our Chococo chocolates are packaged in 100% plastic-free packaging, and also posted in 100% plastic-free packaging too!
