Why our Tuans are Special
Not only does Tuan support a great cause, but he’s also made with the finest, sustainably sourced chocolate:

• Tuandua - 72% Ecuador origin dark chocolate (vf), hand decorated with natural colours

A Collaboration With Purpose
Tuan was created using a bespoke mould designed in collaboration with our Dorset friends, Lush Cosmetics. Lush originally created this orangutan design for their SOS soaps, which helped raise funds to buy back land lost to palm oil plantations. Now, we’re doing our part by filling the very same orangutan shape with our award-winning chocolate, and helping to reforest that reclaimed land.
Our Chocolate Promise
Unlike many big chocolate brands, we will never use palm oil. Why? Because most palm oil farming in Sumatra isn’t sustainable and directly fuels deforestation. Some large brands use it to replace cocoa butter with cheaper “vegetable fats,” but we only ever make chocolate with pure cocoa butter.
A Sweeter Future
There’s more good news. SOS recently told us that orangutans love eating the flesh of the cocoa beans straight from the pod! By planting cocoa as part of reforestation efforts, local farmers will have new, sustainable income streams — and in just a few years, we hope to buy cocoa beans directly from them to make orangutan-approved Chococo chocolate. That means every Tuan sold today not only plants a cocoa tree, but also helps pave the way for a more sustainable chocolate future tomorrow.
