Easter at Chococo – How we make Easter Eggs

Have you ever wondered how we make our Easter eggs? Find out the secrets below!
Well, firstly we temper our award-winning single origin chocolates by melting to temperature, which ensure they have a beautiful shine and texture when they set. This is then carefully poured into our Chococo faceted egg moulds to create the geometric shape. All our eggs are made in two halves and in several stages to build up layers of chocolate and make the egg extra thick!
Every egg has hidden treasures placed inside awaiting you! From crunchy Dorset honeycombe (also made by us!) to Jurassic Coast dinosaurs and fossils, creatures of the sea or even award-winning Dorset Sea salt caramels chocolates. The edges of the two halves of the egg are then gently heated and stuck together. Unlike other companies, we stick all our eggs together so that you can have fun smashing them apart.
Our resident chocolate artists then decorate every single egg by hand with natural colours - from the Ocean Egg’s painted blue waves to the hand-piped, lusted 50/50 egg. It really is a labour of love from start to finish and every egg is truly unique!
