The Guardian features our award-winning Chocolate Salami in their Christmas gift guide
We were delighted to see our 2018 2 Star Gold Great Taste Award winning Chocolate Salami featured in the Guardian's Christmas gift guide published on November 17th. Our chocolate salami is a delicious gift for foodies and is perfect for sharing at the end of a meal. It will easily serve 10-12 people and will keep well if kept wrapped in greaseproof paper if not eaten all in one sitting.
Created by co-founder Claire, this salami is an adaptation of the traditional festive Italian fig salamis, but some of their recipes contain biscuits or egg. Claire's recipe is both dairy-free and vegan-friendly as it contains Madagascar origin 67% dark chocolate blended with chopped dried festive fruits (figs, dates, unsulphured apricots, raisins & candied orange peel), chopped nuts (pistachios & pecans) and a splash of brandy! We do not add any butter or syrups of any form to the recipe.
That means there is NO added sugar - all the sweetness is coming from the fruits and chocolate (the icing sugar around the outside being too thin a layer to add any sweetness when eating a slice).
This rich treat is best served on a wooden board with a knife for each person to cut their own slice and it compliments a cheese board perfectly!
