Chococo is 20 today!

December 5th 2002 was the day Andy & Claire opened the first tiny Chococo in a converted hairdressers in a back street in the Dorset seaside town of Swanage. Our chocolate kitchen was on the ground floor and the shop was upstairs - a truly bonkers idea - but we wanted to show their customers that we were were real people, making real chocolates in a real place! We made everything by hand back then and nothing has changed on that front - we now have a team to handcraft our creations and more space to make them in. When we started, it was just us & our daughter Lily who was a toddler.

Fast forward 20 years and we are now a team of 90 people spread across our HQ in Holton Heath near Poole in Dorset and four Chocolate Houses in Swanage (the original unit which expanded over the years as we took over more units in the lane), Winchester (we are at the bottom of the High St near the Guildhall), Exeter (we are on the famous Gandy St) & Horsham (right in the middle of town on the Carfax). Winners of over 120 fine food awards for our fine chocolates, hot chocolate, gelato & brownies, we also have a nationwide mail order service via our website (or you can call us to place an order by phone), a corporate gift service and supply premium retailers and hotels around the UK, including Liberty in London & The Newt in Somerset.

What a rollercoaster of a journey it has been along the way and we are very thankful for the support of our wonderful customers over the years and our team who have risen to every challenge, especially in recent years. We look forward to the next chocolate adventures to come and hope that you will join us on that journey of fine chocolate delight!

We celebrated at HQ today with cinnamon buns & hot chocolates all round for the team and we have our popular Lucky Dips running in our shops for all our shop customers who spend £10+ over the next few days.
