Cherry Bakewell - chocolate of the month for May
Thanks to all the upsets due to Covid, it has been a while since we were making limited edition chocolates of the month, but we are back in the groove again and delighted to announce the launch of the first of our limited edition chocolates...Cherry Bakewell!
We are all in love with this new flavour and are going a bit mad with our Bakewell fest...We start making these in anger so to speak on Monday 10th, but boxes of 9 Cherry Bakewell chocolates are available to pre-order now on our website for delivery from Wednesday 12th May, or will be in our chocolate house shops in Swanage, Winchester, Exeter & Horsham at the end of the week.
Our Chococo large, medium & small selection boxes will also contain at least one Cherry Bakewell chocolate for the time that it is available, as will our monthly Subscription boxes.
Inspired by the classic English sweet treat, we have created a Chococo version - Venezuela origin milk chocolate domes filled with a blend of white chocolate and 100% pure almond butter (with no palm oil of course), to represent the almond sponge section of a Cherry Bakewell, layered with a sour cherry jam made for us by Susan of the Alweston Jam & Chutney Empire in North Dorset. Susan's jam is intensely fruity and gives a wonderful contrast to the sweet nut base.
Jacqui then decorates each one by hand (& her trusty paintbrushes) with a dash of naturally coloured cocoa butter & a red dot to represent the cherry on top!
We have also created a limited edition Cherry Bakewell brownie by post to accompany this new chocolate. Order yours by 5pm on Monday 10th May to be on the list for this week's brownie delivery - Kev, our baker only make our brownies by post every Wednesday morning at our Swanage bakery, so there is a limited number available to order. We post them out, within hours of being made, by 24 hour delivery, so should be with you on Thursday 13th. They will keep for a few days, slightly longer if you keep them in the fridge.
We have also created a Bundle set of both a box of 9 chocolates & a brownie for a total Cherry Bakewell fest & as a little bounty bonus, you save £1.50 vs buying each item separately. This bundle is already proving popular, so don't delay in ordering yours by 5pm on Monday!
