Returning as part of our "Fine Collection" range of eggs for 2020 is our fantastic Madagascar 65% 'Mega Milk' chocolate egg in this stunning diamond-faceted Easter egg mould, now with 4 'Mega Milk' studded gems with toasted hazelnuts inside! 

This 65% "Mega Milk" is milk chocolate but not as you know it as it contains 65% cocoa solids (which is almost as much as a 70% dark chocolate bar) BUT also contains 27% milk solids, which means it only contains 8% added sugar....yes you read that right - that's much LESS than most dark chocolates. The chocolate has bright red berry fruit notes mellowed by creamy caramel flavours from the milk, so you would never know that you are eating a chocolate with so little added sugar.

Inside, wrapped in a twist of tissue just waiting to be opened, you will find x4 65% Mega Milk chocolate gems, studded with toasted hazelnuts.

This egg received many rave reviews in the press in 2018 and 2019 and was is one of the Evening Standard's Best Luxury Easter Eggs for 2019, describing it as "combining style and substance". They were impressed that it contains only 8% added sugar and love the "luxe looking" gold dusting on the outside of the egg! 

What's more, our mini bar version of this Easter Egg won a 2 Star Greate Taste Award in 2018!

This 65% chocolate is made by Chocolaterie Robert at their factory in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar and is known as "Raisetrade" as it is produced in its country of origin from tree to bar. This movement  is helping developing countries reduce poverty and increase wealth through business, primarily through the export of manufactured products and brands, rather than commodities. This raises value by creating competitive products and improves investment into the country & skills amongst the local workforce, much more so that exporting even fairtrade cocoa beans, and is something that we are passionate about supporting.

Size: The egg sits snugly in its box which measures 15cm tall - we dont believe in excess packaging, so the box is not huge vs the size of the egg inside, but you are getting a lot of chocolate for your egg!


This 65% Madagascar Mega Milk is milk chocolate but not as you know it.

To put that into context, a 70% dark bar will contain 30% sugar!

So, this unique egg has a wonderful rich chocolate taste (with both berry fruit & nutty notes) which is softened by the inclusion of the milk to give a creamy finish...so you would never know that it only contains 8% added sugar - what's not to love about this truly "Mega Milk"?

Inside this goregous, faceted egg, you will also find 4 'Mega Milk' gems studded with toasted hazelnuts. Wrapped in a twist of food safe, recyclable tissue, each parcel of gems is placed inside before the two halves are put together. 

(It has also become a firm favourite amongst all the team here at Chococo since we were first sent samples in 2018)

Not only is this single origin chocolate special in terms of its flavours, it is a RAISETRADE product in that it is produced in its country of origin, Madagascar from tree to bar for us to work with. Producing finished products with the value added in country, rather than just exporting raw commodites, adds significantly more value to the local Malagsy economy than the traditional business model in which we in the West add the value.

We are very proud to work with Chocolaterie Robert, based in the capital Antananarivo, who produce this very special chocolate. It only arrived into the UK in 2017 and we were one of the first UK chocolatiers to work with it. 

Made using freshly dried single origin grand cru cocoa beans grown in the Sambriano region in the north west of Madagascar, this 65% "Mega Milk" chocolate will delight your taste buds and, once tried, you'll never look at milk chocolate the same way again!
