Our COVID-19 Protocols
This is a summary of all the steps we have taken to comply with Government rules and how we as a small business are managing the threat from COVID-19.
Chococo HQ in Wareham:
All our team regularly wash and sanitise their hands and also wear face coverings in our chocolate kitchen, packing & despatch room and office areas. We are still operating ‘extreme distancing’, as we have nicknamed it, so this means that we have fewer chocolatiers & packing team members working at any one time and only a few people in at the same time in our office. So please bear with us if we are slow to answer the phone (we would rather you emailed us to be honest) or if your order takes slightly longer than normal to arrive.
However, we work hard to get all mail orders out as quickly as we can after receipt and, as long as Royal Mail can continue to operate a normal service, most deliveries are arriving in the time frames that they should.

We are offering both our chocolates and a (slightly limited) cafe service, for both takeaways and sit in with limited distanced indoor & outdoor seating.
Please note that if you do sit in that you are required to either scan the NHS QR code on arrival or fill in a contact details form to comply with track & trace. We destroy paper contact forms after 21 days.
Further, if you do take one of our tables, either indoors or out, we ask that you do not move the tables as they have been placed there to comply with distancing rules & also that you stay in your bubbles.
All our customers must wear a face covering (unless they are someone who is on the list of exemptions), when visiting us for either chocolates or food & drink to go or eat in. If you do sit in, we will ask you to wear a mask to order at the counter and only take it off when seated at your table. Please note that we do not take bookings as we are a café, not a restaurant.
We will ask anyone not wearing a mask to put one on before entry and we ask, even if you don’t agree with masks, that you do not give any of our team members abuse for just trying to follow the rules.
We are not able to supply free masks for customers who do not have one with them but we do know that there are shops in the immediate vicinity of all our chocolate houses selling them.
We have implemented a number of measures to help ensure we are as COVID secure as possible and to ensure everyone's safety in all our chocolate houses:
* Front doors propped open for maximum ventilation and to remove the need to touch the door
* Extra hand washing & regular sanitising by team members through the day
* All team members in visors or masks
* Extra cleaning of high touch surfaces by the team through the day and cleaning of tables in between each customer
* Hand sanitiser at all entrances
* Distanced tables inside & out
* Posters in the windows of our house rules and indicating the maximum number of people allowed to queue inside
* Separate entrances for the cafe & shop at our Swanage Chocolate House
* Tape at marked distances to indicate where to stand inside whilst queuing

* Contactless payments only
* Reusable cups accepted - see below for our process
* Shop & cafe collection points for you to collect your order & paper carrier bags for you to fill yourselves
Please note that we DO accept reusable cups for hot drinks - please take the lid off the cup and the team member will provide a tray for you to put it onto. Once the drink is made and returned to you, you just have to put the lid back onto the cup, so all we ask is that you take care to put the lid back on properly as the contents will be hot.
So you get to enjoy your reusable cup discount again and together we reduce the number of (compostable) disposable cups used and it is a truly contactless coffee or hot chocolate!
We are able to accept generic £x value vouchers and large selection box vouchers in our shops and chocolate afternoon tea vouchers in our café. However we are not currently serving chocolate fondues so cannot honour any of those vouchers currently. There is no expiry date on our vouchers, so please do not worry if you would rather wait until life is back to something like more normal before visiting us and redeeming any of our vouchers.
