The Winchester Hat Fair is on now & Chococo Winchester have Knobs!

The annual celebration of all things creative & quirky started today in Winchester....this amazing street festival is so called as it was named after the hats that street entertainers, acrobats, musicians & actors would put out to collect money after their show. There will be events happening all over Winchester from this evening & until Sunday & we hope that you will find time to pop in to visit our Winchester Chocolate House on the High St for a drink or an ice cream and a rest!

As well as supporting the Hat Fair this year by supplying all the volunteers with t shirts, we, as a creative bunch ourselves, thought it would be fun to bring Dorset Knob Throwing to Winchester for the weekend....more speficically, the Dorset Knob Challenge!

So what on earth are Dorset Knobs we hear you ask...well, they are very famous hard bun-like biscuits (triple baked to be precise) that are traditionally either dunked in cider to soften them or served with cheese (especially Dorset's Blue Vinny).
The makers of this local delicacy, Moores Biscuits, decided a few years ago to run a festival every first May bank holiday in Dorchester to celebrate their most famous creation and to cut a long story short, knob throwing has become a county pastime!

As we are a little tight for space outside our Winchester chocolate house for full scale knob throwing, we have been given permission by the kind folks of the Dorset Knob Festival committee to run the Knob Challenge which is a game of skill that requires a very accurate throw! This game is suitable for all ages to play (although we let little people stand a little closer....)

If you are intrigued, we hope you can visit us at some point over the weekend to have a go, raise some £ for Trinity to support local homeless people & also win some chocolate prizes!
