Craig's Farm Dairy
Our cream comes fresh from Trevor Craig's family-run dairy farm near Weymouth. He is the only dairy farmer left in South Dorset selling fresh cream to the local market and we are very proud to have been working with Trevor & his team since we started Chococo back in 2002. His herd of 120 Freshires & Ayreshires is not organic but it is low density and his cream is wonderfully rich, thick and yellow! We order our cream direct with the farm and it arrives the next morning in one of their vans to our chocolate kitchen in Wareham. We also support Craig's Farm Dairy in our Swanage café, using their milk for all our hot drinks & clotted cream for our scones.
Our honey comes from award-winning local Swanage beekeeper Robert Field, aka Bob. Bob has hives all over Dorset & into Wiltshire and we use his wonderful Bell Heather honey from the Arne Peninsular here in Purbeck in Bob's Bees, a fresh chocolate, and also in our award-winning honeycombe. We also sell several of his honeys in our Swanage shop.
We work with Rebecca of Rebecca's Kitchen based very close to us in Wareham. Rebecca is a relatively new local food producer and we are delighted to have her on board as our chief lemon curd and fruit jellies maker! Our Lemon Zing chocolate made with Rebecca's fresh lemon curd is both a Gold Great Taste Award winner 2015 & International Chocolate Awards silver winner 2016
Blue Vinny Cheese
Our Dorset Blue chocolate, first made in 2013, with Dorset's famous Blue Vinny cheese & chopped cranberries, was so popular that it will be back again for Christmas, if not at other times of the year.
Our latest partnership is with Rupert Holloway, maker of Conker Gin, Dorset's first craft gin! Rupert uses a variety of interesting local botanicals including samphire & locally foraged gorse flowers. Rupert picks the flowers (using very thick gloves!) when the gorse is in flower and then dries it. We use both his gin & a dried gorse flower infusion to make our Conker & Gorse Flower chocolate - but it is only available in the spring when the gorse is in flower!
We work with Black Cow Vodka, based in West Dorset to make our Brilliant Black Cow chocolate. This unusual vodka, made from cows whey, is utterly delicious and is the world's only milk vodka!
Keeping on the spirits theme, we teamed up with Twisted Nose Gin distilled by Paul of the Winchester Distillery in 2014 to create our Totally Twisted Nose. This frankly quite bonkers chocolate also includes an infusion of fresh watercress from The Watercress Company (based in Dorset with farms in Dorset & Hampshire) and it won a Gold Academy of Chocolate Award in 2015.
We use Tyrannasaurus Red wine from the Furleigh Estate near Bridport, Dorset to make our seasonal Mulled Wine chocolate, winner of a 1 star Gold Great Taste Award in 2012.
We use Old Thumper beer from the Ringwood Brewery in Ringwood, to make our Old Thumper beer chocolate, winner of a 1 star Gold Great Taste Award in 2011.

Local suppliers to our Exeter Chocolate House
We are proud to be working with several local Exeter suppliers already for our Exeter chocolate house which we opened in June 2016 and look forward to working with lots more over time. Our coffee comes from Crankhouse Coffee which is roasted just 2 miles from us on Gandy St and cycled to us by Dave, Mr Crankhouse! We use West Country Milk for all our milk and tea will be supplied by Devonshire Tea very shortly. We also work with Emma of Emma's Bread on Paris St who is baking our chocolate chip scones for us, traybakes & some savoury treats too.
We are full members of Dorset Food & Drink, an origin assurance scheme that gives consumers the confidence that they are indeed buying products sourced from & made in Dorset. The organisation welcomes every business with its roots in Dorset that grows, makes, brings significant added-value to, sells, serves or supports Dorset food and drink. To display the logo we have met the criteria covering the business, sourcing of ingredients & processing. Amongst other benefits, this scheme also helps supports local businesses, keeps money in the local economy & promotes local employment.
We are also hospitality members of Hampshire Fare for our local sourcing of so many local Hampshire food & drink products in our cafe & chocolates incorporating local flavours.
